As an Editorial Intern at Sadiaa Black Beauty Guide from February to May 2023, I focused on highlighting Black-owned beauty brands, amplifying Black entrepreneurs, and exploring the latest news and trends shaping the Black beauty and fashion industries. Working remotely for 10–12 hours per week, I researched emerging topics, curated unique story ideas, and developed two to three stories centered on Black beauty, fashion, and pop culture.
Through weekly team meetings, I collaborated with the founder of Sadiaa to pitch story ideas, conduct research, and draft articles following AP style guidelines. I also contributed to expanding the publication’s directory of Black-owned beauty brands and local businesses, helping increase visibility for entrepreneurs within the community.
