This narrative focuses on the experiences of two college students: Nadine Ashour, 20, of Texas Women’s University and Sama Deeb, 21, of University of North Texas as they navigate their identity as both college students and developing activists in the current political and social landscape, activism and student life through the University of North Texas Chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).
SJP is a student organization that was established in March 2023 at UNT dedicated to the liberation and freedom of Palestinian people. This story highlights how these students balance their academic life and mental health, while advocating for people in Palestine amidst national discourse surrounding the issue and scrutiny from the Texas government and university.
